Residential Termite Control - Termite Treatment

Termite control starts with understanding termites. Walker Pest Management has spent a lot of time studying and training to provide your home and business the best termite protection from termite damage. Termites are social insects living in colonies which are usually located in the ground or in wood. They are worldwide in distribution with over 3,000 described species with at least 50 species found in the United States. Based on the location of their colony, termites are typically divided into subterranean, drywood, and dampwood termites. The biology and habits of these three groups are different and require a detailed knowledge in order to effectively control them. A good termite control strategy should be handled by a licensed, professional company, and is not recommended for the average homeowner to do themselves.

Termites are made up of workers, soldiers, and swarmers. The workers look creamy white in color with a slightly darker head. Workers have no wings and they maintain the colony, construct and repair the nest, and forage and feed the colony.  The Soldiers are also creamy white except for a dark and much-enlarged head. Soldiers also lack wings and their one function is to protect the colony.  Swarmers are pale yellowish to reddish brown to black in color, depending on the species. They have two pairs of wings nearly equal in length and width, which lie flat over the abdomen when not in use. They use these to fly to a location then drop onto the ground at which point they will shed their wings. They will then find a mate and start a new colony.

According to the National Pest Management Association, termites cause more than $5 billion in property damage each year – costs that aren’t covered by your homeowners insurance policy. Termite protection begins by having a pest control expert correctly identify the type of termite that is causing the damage. This will require a thorough inspection of the accessible parts of the structure. This identification and inspection process will determine the type of control required. Walker Pest Management will often do a free inspection of your home or business to determine if you have termites. We will determine which treatment options will best protect your home or business to eliminate any current infestation and protect against future problems.

“Calling and setting up a 1 year contract was smooth sailing, the operator was very polite and accommodating. Within just a few days (I had to reschedule) a technician came out and explained everything in detail as to what he was doing and planned to do, as well as what to expect in the future. The process was quick and easy. 10/10”

Outstanding service! I love when we use the online request form they are out the very next day to take care of any issues. Since we been using them we hardly have seen any spiders, or bugs in our house. I personally am freaked out over spiders. So I am highly happy with this company. We used ***** for 5 years but after the constant price increases we went elsewhere. I am much more happier with Walker Pest over any other company. They listen and show they actually care and take care of any problems ASAP!.
